Most Requested Tips for Running an Online Business Successfully

As of this moment, there are thousands of people who are drawn and interested in starting an online business every now and then. But the problem is, there are only small percentages of the population of these online businesses built every day that actually achieved their expectations and eventually succeed in their own way.

If you really want to pursue doing online business this time around, there are certain basic rules you can follow to turn your online business into a successful one. Here are the things you need to know to have a successful online business this 2015:

1. Simple and Organized

This is important. You need to keep your website design as simple as possible and well-organized so that your visitors will have no hard time browsing all your categories. People have a tendency to want to over-design their website in an effort to make it stand out or look cool. It is much more important to make sure your design is organized in a way that visitors can easily find what they are looking for at a glance. It’s the most important thing that you should put to consideration all the time. Take a good look at Apple site and see their well designed website. You can gain ideas by simply looking at their site.

2. Prompt and Respond to your Visitors

It is essential that you get back to your visitors and potential clients as soon as possible whenever they visit, email or fill out a contract form in your site. People always take mental note of how long it takes an online business to get back to them. There is way too much competition out there now for you to let potential clients slip through the cracks because you weren’t diligent enough to follow through.

3. Be Active and Engage to your Visitors Positively

This will help increase your loyalty and sales whenever you can turn your visitors into active participants on your website. The simplest way to do this is to add a blog and open it up for comments from your visitors. It is essential in growing your business using social media. This is a top rule in the online business world.

4. Give Your Visitors a Reason to Visit Your Site Again

You can give your visitors a reason to come back in many ways because repeat visitors for your online business will definitely increase sales for sure. Just adding quality content on a regular basis is a good way to get repeat visitors.

5. Don’t Be a Pushy Salesperson

Aside from outdated content, visitors don’t like you or your site to sound and look like you are selling too much. Do not over-sell to your visitors to maintain their loyalty to your site. Online businesses are no different in this aspect. People hate to feel like they are being overly pressured to buy something.

6. Maintain High Quality Mailing List for your Site

Give them an incentive to do so such as a free report or free e-course on a topic related to your business. Be sure not to send out your newsletter too often, perhaps once a month and occasionally send a special announcement.

When you deal with real people, no matter how digital the business world gets, these are the things you need to put in your mind all the time. Remember, reputation is everything and you should never forget that.

Negative Impact of Cold Advertising

Receiving an unsolicited call is simply annoying.

Especially when it’s about pitching this and that products and/or services.

I’m still surprised why businesses still do this type of advertising method where in fact most of the persons being called are pissed. No one wants to be hearing “promotional pitches” over the phone while you’re busy —- working or at home taking care of things.

What is cold calling?

Cold calling is defined as calling a random set of numbers from a region not previously marketed to by the agent.

Each recruited agent will be provided with a standardised cold calling script and committed to set aside an hour each day for seven days or depending on the company the agent is working with to make cold calls in his/her respective geographic region.

Agents were asked to call a generic, random list of numbers from a region not previously
marketed to that either they provided or that was supplied to them.

The negative impact:

Calling random and poor, unsuspecting people will crush the business’ reputation. They will discredited with their credibility because they still do the cold-calling method in introducing their offers.

Imagine this…

What would you feel if you received a call from someone you don’t know you — it tends to be negatively posing as a stalker alert. Questions like “where did you get my number?”, “how did you get it?” etc… There are, after all, cases of scams and hacks and for my part, I don’t want that to happen to me.

Why cold-calling is stupid!

It’s a waste of your time because you can invest your previous time with far greater returns in some other aspects. Selling something to someone who has no relationship with you or your company is next to IMPOSSIBLE. So, nope.

It’s a waste of your prospect’s time because they’ve got better things to do than chit-chatting on the phone.

Why would anyone resort to cold calling?

Not entirely sure but you know, cold calling can be brutal. Why? You may need to make 200 phone calls or more to land one appointment. That’s not even attainable.

Okay, some might think “You can call someone today, schedule a meeting tomorrow, and have a new client the following day.” —- FALSE alarm. The possibility is still floating in the air, you know.

The most annoying part? There are some sales representative who don’t stop calling. Cold calling is dead, a waste of time and the old way of selling.

Wrapping it up…

So, is cold calling effective? Unfortunately, the answer to this question may still remain
unanswered.

But for me, I don’t like it. PERIOD.

Hopefully, businesses who employ this type of method will find another way to pitch their business. I believe there are lot of other ways to deal with that and cold calling is not the last option available out there.

Businesses MUST find a solution that are advantageous to the customers (like me) and not just for their sake. Everyone will agree especially those who encountered the same situation.

Book Review: Money Making Business Online

So, I was reading this book, Attention! This Book Will Make You Money: How to Use Attention-Getting Online Marketing to Increase Your Revenue. I bought it from Amazon. Yes, the title is a bit long. Haha!

It’s interesting.

Here’s what I learned about it:

Before you can make any online income, you’ve got to decide what your niche will be. Do you have a flair for writing? Market your talents as a writer of online content. Are you good at making graphics? You can get hired to develop website and promotional materials. Looking inside yourself can help you figure it out.

Even though you may be able to make money online regularly, keeping physical records of your work and earnings is still important. Print out the data from a well-maintained spreadsheet or keep a notebook by your computer. Keep accurate and up to date information that you will later need for tax purposes, to verify income or just for your own purposes. Data can be lost all too easily online.

If you love to draw, you can sell some of the photography that you create on the web. Initially, you may want to post your goods on Craigslist or a smaller site to get the word out and see if people will bite. If there is a high following, you can move to a more prominent site.

Remember to create a budget before you start to work online. You need to know what your overhead will be, be it the cost of your computer and internet connection if your work will be completely totally virtually, or any supplies you need if your plan is to sell items online.

Start out small when you want to make money online, to minimize potential losses. For example, something that looks promising could turn out to be a bust and you don’t want to lose a lot of time or money. Do a single taks, write just one article or order only one item until the site you choose proves to be safe and worthy.

Create honest reviews of some of the new software that is out on the market today. SoftwareJudge is a site that will pay you to try out this new software and create a review of how good or bad you think it is. This will skyrocket your earnings if you can do this often.

There are many opportunities for online tutors in subjects ranging from mathematics to language. Possible students are many and varied. You might teach your native language to people living in other countries via VoIP. Another possibility is to tutor schoolchildren, high schoolers or college students in a subject in which you specialize. You can work with an online tutoring agency or set up your own website to begin.

If you are looking to make a few extra bucks online but don’t want an actual job, you could always fill out surveys. Many researchers offer a couple of dollars for filling out surveys for them. Some companies will pay you via PayPal while others will send you a check.

Overall, the book is a must read. :)

Smart Ways To Grow Your Home Business

The world of home business provides you with wonderful opportunity, but is fraught with the peril of scams. Many people interested in starting a home business are overwhelmed by the information available and become dissuaded by the idea of being taken advantage of.

With that said, how to start a successful and reputable home business?

To keep your finances in order, acquire a unique checking account and credit card to use for your home business. Use them for every business transaction you have, and use them for business only. Keeping your business finances separate from your personal finances will make it much easier on you when tax-time rolls around.

Always know how much you are spending to make the products you sell, so that you do not end up losing money. Doubling the price of an item is the general rule of thumb for determining wholesale pricing. A standard retail mark-up would be twice the price of wholesale. The price should be acceptable to you, as well as to your customers.

Running your home based business is a challenge, it is important to reward yourself so you will stay motivated. For instance, for every work related task that you complete from your list, you could reward yourself with fifteen minutes of non work activities. This will help to keep you focused and motivated.

Include a projection of your operating expenses, your invested capital, and your break-even point. This is a way for you to determine if your business is making money. You should have financial goals set at various periods of time as a check point, like every month, at 6 months, and at 1 year.

Trade your products with other home businesses. This increases the visibility of your product and your business. It also creates solid, long-lasting relationships with other individuals in similar situations. These connections could prove helpful in the future, so it is best to maintain as many as possible. If you are not sure where to begin, use the internet as a resource.

If you want to make money with a home business, you must be the type of person that is able to learn new things easily. No matter how much you know about the area your home business specialises in, you will still constantly need to learn new things in order to grow your business. If you are not the type of person that is willing to learn, your business is sure to fail.

Do you have the drive and determination to make a home business work? If you are like many people and want to be your own boss and work from home, then find something you like to do. It may sound easy, but it isn’t. While passion for something is a good thing, the passion to work with it and the willingness to see it done are even better.

The dream of being your own boss is one that many of us share. While the world of the home business is tempting, many people are afraid to take the plunge for fear of being taken advantage of. By applying the tips and advice from this article, you should be able to chose a reputable home business with a high chance of success.

Introduction: How the Internet Changes Everything

I love the Internet.

Whenever I want to search something, all I have to do is search those questions in Google or Firefox or Bing.

It’s that easy.

Whether you’re a businessman or an individual (students, workers, others) — the Internet plays a major role in our lives.

I, simply, can’t live without it. Okay, that’s exaggerating but then something to that effect if the Internet will vanish in a snap. I’ll go scream “NOOOOOOOO!” in a very exaggerated way if that will ever (finger-crossed, it will never) happen.

Imagine if the Internet and all the technology we adore today will be wiped out altogether. What the world would be like?

It will be like back to the Stone Age or the B.C. centuries.

There’ll be no Facebook newsfeeds, took selfies, read on a Kindle. Simply, EVERYONE will be a digital native.

Benefits…

The web triggered talk of a Digital Age or Information Revolution. The talk gathered pace in the late 1990s as many people began to learn about opening a maiden email account or taking the first tentative surf on the world wide web.
The idea that street maps would be available at a mouse click, rather than in a book, or that weather reports and stock prices would be accessible on mobile phones.
Shopping? Go can do it online!
With the Internet, we can communicate easily with anyone globally and access more information, services and products than ever before.
More benefits —- uploading hundreds of millions of weird cat videos, watching TED talks, researching how to start a business, reading blogs, talking to a loved one halfway around the world, including seeing their face using Skype or FaceTime.
Plus MORE

Without it…

No more email and you will resort to old-school pen and paper process.
Reading news. Although I still buy a newspaper from time to time but then without the Internet, you can’t be updated instantly and you’ll have to wait for the news to be published the next day.
Tedious — that’s the word to describe it. No more easy way to do it. If there’s an Internet, all you have to do is type in the words and hit SEARCH. And ta-da! You’ll have bunch of search results to navigate one-by-one.
No more online shopping — this means you have to commute and if the shop location is on the other side of the world, you need to rely on stores nearby. Sorry, ladies.
No technology updates because without the Internet, those don’t exist after all. Eeek!
People read physical rather than virtual books and newspapers, listened to music on a portable CD player, used fax machines and still posted letters.
There would be NO free online encyclopaedia called Wikipedia, as they still used a pile of reference books to find answers to basic questions or how to spell a word.

Living without the Internet? Doable but then for a millennial like me, it’s next to impossible. So, I hope this would never ever happen.

How about you? What are your thoughts about it?
